MARGARET LANE CARLSON
Margaret Lane Carlson died Nov. 15, 1995, of injuries sustained in a fall at her Portland home. She was 95. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes. Mrs. Carlson was born June 20, 1900, in Castle Rock, Wash., where she worked in a drugstore, the post office and the weekly newspaper. Her maiden name was Lambkin [sic]. She later worked for J.C. Penney in Longview and the Coast to Coast store in Gresham. A member of Lynch Baptist Church, she attended the University of Washington for two years. She was preceded in death by three husbands: Joe W. Lane in 1934, Charles Saxton in 1949 and Edwin O. Carlson in 1967, and her only child, Betty Jo Lane Taylor in 1968. Survivors include her sister, Mildred Wade of West Linn; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Cremation will be private. The family suggests remembrances to Lynch Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 3130 S.E. 148th Ave., Portland.
