Helen Bazet Ostheimer, 95, a native of Houma and resident of Jackson, Tenn., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Religious services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy O. and Charles Solberg of Jackson; one son and daughter-in-law, Lucius R. and Sandy Ostheimer Jr. of Houma; five grandchildren, Paul R. and wife, Sheryl Ostheimer, of Mansfield, Texas, Karl W. and wife, Melanie Ostheimer of Mansfield, Texas; Gretchen Solberg and husband, Gary Vailes of Medina, Tenn., Michael and wife, Teresa Solberg of Jackson, and Glen and wife, Shawn Solberg of Richmond, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Vailes of Medina, Heather and Robert Solberg of Jackson, Alisha Ostheimer of Mansfield, La., Karlee and Tessa Ostheimer of Mansfield, Texas, and Joshua, Sarah and Caleb Solberg of Richmond, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Neigel of Biloxi, Miss., and Nathaniel and wife, Celeste, Neigel of Houma; five step-great-grandchildren, Brandy Prudhomme of Mansfield, La., Amber Cox and husband, Shane, of South Haven, Miss., Britany Murchinson of Jackson, Dillon and Michael Marsh of Mansfield, Texas; and three step-great-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler Lee Prudhomme of Mansfield, Texas, and Sara Cox of South Haven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Helen and Theophile Bazet; one brother, Hugh Wallis Bazet; two sisters, Norma Rosalie Chesson and Maxine Ione Hites; and one step-grandson, Patrick Neigel of Houma.

She was a retired Terrebonne Parish public school teacher, former teacher at St. Matthew's Episcopal School, member of the Retired Teachers of Terrebonne, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Terrebonne Genealogical Society.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church or the charity of one's choice.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
