He was a son of John S and Margaret Louisa Horner Agnew. He married Sarah Marion Rebecca Caless 24 September 1898 in Gettysburg, Adams, Pennsylvania. He came to Phoenix in 1947 from Toledo, OH. He was survived by a son, Newton H. Agnew of Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs. Norman Boyd of Baltimore, MD; three brothers: Paul of Glendale, Donald of Cambridge, OH, and William of Warren, OH; three sisters: Mrs. Anna Raughfelish of Cleveland, OH, Mrs. Grace LeFevre of Sebring, OH, and Mrs. Ruth Lansinger of Baltimore, MD; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
