He was a lifelong resident of East Hope, where he was raised and graduated high school. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving World War II, and the Korean War.
On Dec. 31, 1948 he married the love of his life Elona Rhoads, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Berkley and Val; and by a sister, Donna.
