Betty Lavada Scates, 68, of Center and longtime resident of Pine Grove Nursing Center, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. She was born November 30, 1944 in Center to Elmo Rains and Annie Chandler Rains. She was a member of White Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Center.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Ed McRae and Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery in Center.
