Funeral services for Giles Franklin "Pete" Savell of Minden were conducted Saturday, February 2 at 3:30 at the Minden Rose-Neath Chapel with Rev. Frank Deloach assisted by Bro. Eddie Clement officiating. Burial followed in the Fuller Cemetery.
Mr. Savell passed away Thursday, Jan. 31 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 65.
Mr. Savell was a resident of Minden for the past 38 years; and a service station attendant.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Clint Savell; one granddaughter, Kayla Ruth Breland; two sisters, Alice Martin, Henrietta Wainwright; one brother, Arthur Savell.
Survivors included his wife, Martha Savell, Minden; four sons, Pete Savell and Sammy Savell, both of Minden; Jerry Savell of Gretna, La., Steve Savell of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Prestidge, Minden; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Jesse Deloach, James Deloach, Herbert Prestidge, Jimmy Stillwell, Raleigh Walker and Clint Griffin.
