ALBERT L. CHAMPIGNY, 76
MARATHON, Fla. - Albert L. "Red" Champigny, 76, of Marathon, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a longtime advertising executive, and a former vice-presdent of an advertising firm, died Monday at Marathon Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Marion "Sue" (Prentice) Champigny; a son, two daughters, two grandchildren.
He was born in Worcester, Mass., son of Albert F. and Frances (Layng) Champigny, and lived some years in Schenectady, N.Y., Larchmont, N.Y., and Scarsdale, N.Y.; eight years in Chicago; and 22 years here.
He graduated from Becker College, Worcester, Mass., and from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. He was a member of the Delta Pi fraternity at Becker.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Champigny worked many years in advertising. He first worked at General Electric Co. in Schenectady, N.Y., and later became vice-president of Maxon Inc., an advertising firm in New York City. He was later an account executive at Campbell Mithun Inc., an advertising agency in Chicago, retiring in 1972.
Private memorial services at sea will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Community Church, 3301 Overseas Highway, Marathon, Fla., 33050. Martin-Vegue FUneral Home, 2901 Overseas Highway, is directing arrangements.
