He was the son of Samuel Jr. & Mary "Polly" (Hodges) McBee.

He joined Col. Joseph Porter's 1st Northeast MO Cav. of the Confederate States Army in December 1861.
Killed in Action on this day in battle. Likely into another unit, but have not discovered at this time. Such formalities just didn't matter much in the Trans-Mississippi.
