Hazel Aamodt, 91 , longtime drama teacher

Hazel A. Aamodt, 91, a drama teacher in Minneapolis for many years, died Tuesday in San Antonio, Texas, where she had lived for 10 months.

Aamodt taught music and drama at Waldorf College In Forest City, Iowa, and drama at St Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., before coming to Minneapolis to teach drama at the MacPhail School of Music, now the MacPhail School for the Arts. She also helped charter children's theater conferences nationwide and received many awards for her work, said her daughter, Ann Louise Davis.

Aamodt was a lifetime member of the Pi Epsilon chapter of the Phi Beta National Fraternity for Creative and Performing Arts and a member of the American National Theater and the Twin City Puppeteers.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a sister, Marian Brandes of Minneapolis; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Av. S. The family suggested that memorials be directed to the Phi Beta National Fraternity.
