EARLY — Graveside services for Gladys Maye Beal, 99, of Early, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Bangs Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Ailshie officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beal was born on June 11, 1903, in Brown County, the daughter of the late Lon and Annie Hunt Wells. She attended Ricker School in Brownwood. She married Robert Beal on April 28, 1920 in Brown County; he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was a longtime resident of Bangs and Early before moving to New Braunfels to be near her daughter.

Survivors include son, Robert G. Beal of Reno, Nev.; son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Bobbie Beal of Early; daughter, Nev. Clark of New Braunfels; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Bond, seven brothers and two sisters.
