Lyle was a professional fine arts photographer for over 35 years. He worked for twenty years in journalistic, advertising, and commercial photography in Los Angeles and Nashville. He then moved to Washington D.C. where he married Lanier Gautier and worked for the National Gallery Museum of Art as a photographer.
After 9/11, Lyle wanted more than anything to return home to his family and to the place he loved most. There, surviving the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and experiencing the areas rebirth, he rediscovered both his personal heritage, as well as the natural beauty of the gulf coast region as a subject for his photography. His work can be found in galleries, shops and art museums.
He was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Francis Peterzell; and his brother Lynn Peterzell.
