Leslie L. "Bud" Perry, 85, of Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Bedford Health Care Center.

He was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Trimble County, Ky., the son of Joseph Newton and Pauline Watson Perry. He had retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory as senior agriculturalist. He was a member and deacon of Corn Creek Baptist Church, was a Kentucky Colonel, and had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Pyles Perry; three sons, David L. Perry of Hanover, Glenn D. Perry and Leon Perry, both of Madison; two daughters, Carolyn Stevens of Yuma, Ariz., and Marilyn O'Day of Lexington; two sisters, Viola Thompson of Indianapolis and Fredia Callis of Madison; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Norman Perry; and one grandson.

Services will be at 4 p.m. EDT Saturday at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, with burial in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.
