Jack retired from Birmingham Southern Railroad after forty years. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Hazel, son Jack Barnes Jr. (Lisa), daughter, Toni Barns Thrasher (Don), grandchildren Zachary, Levi, Amber, Dalton, Jackson, and Tori. He is also survived by his sister Juanita Barnes Price. Jack was laid to rest on November 7 at Southern Heritage Cemetery
