Smandel Louis Cushman, 87, of El Cajon died Saturday. He was
born in Nebraska and was an aircraft supervisor for Rohr
Industries. Survivors include his daughters, Pat Arrington of El Cajon and Pamela Sneed of Texas; son, Dennis of El Cajon; Donald Dean of Joshua Tree; sister, Cora Maw of Corona; brothers, Oris, Edward and Rex, all of Nebraska; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Greenwood Mortuary, Interstate 805 and Imperial Avenue, San Diego.
Services: noon Monday, Garden Chapel, Greenwood Memorial Park.
Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.

"Jay" Oct. 28, 1917 to Nov. 29, 2004 Our beloved father was
born in Herman, Neb. He passed away in El Cajon at age 87. Dad
was a man of integrity. A kind, gentle, loving family man. He took pride in his accomplishments at Rohr and Convair. He lost his wife Louise, our mother, in 1975. He later wed Kathleen Macdonald who passed away in 2001. Dad was a cherished man to all who knew him. Survivors include daughters Patricia Arrington and Pamela Sneed (John), and son Dennis Jay Cushman (Shawna). Sister Cora Maw of Coroa, brothers Ed, Rex, and Oris of Neb. Six grandchildren. Five great-grandchildren. Stepson Donald Dean (Patricia). Three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, December 6, at Greenwood Mortuary. Burial Greenwood Cemetery. Family suggests donations to Alzheimer's research. Please sign the
