Heart Trouble Fatal to Young Man Who Was Born and Raised Here
Raymond Edwin Hoover, former Audubon boy, died Saturday at Soldier's Home Hospital in Sawtelle, California. He was 35 years old. Death was the result of heart trouble, with which he has been affected for years, his last illness was of about a months duration.
Mr. Hoover, a son of G.W. Hoover of Audubon, was born here on April 6, 1893 and resided here for 18 years. His marriage to Ella Blohm occurred 01 July, 1916. One daughter was born to this wedlock, Margaret Cora Hoover of Audubon. During the World War he attempted to enlist in the United States Army, but he was rejected because of his health. Later he was drafted, but after spending about 2 months in camp, was given an honorable discharge because of the condition of his heart. He had resided for some time in Anaheim, California.
Surviving, besides his father, are the widow, Marian Hoover of Anaheim; Margaret Cora, Audubon, a daughter by a former marriage, a brother C.L. Hoover, Clinton; and 2 sisters, Mrs. W.W. Waldron, Denver, CO. and Mrs. W.H. Freeman, Casper, Wyoming.
His mother preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 1920 [and also infant son Herbert C. Hoover, born & died March 24, 1921].
TO BE BURIED HERE
Funeral Services will be held at the residence of D.L. Freeman here Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in Maple Grove Cemetery."

Besides his daughter Margaret Cora Hoover Blacketer, he and Ella had an infant son Herbert C. Hoover, born & died 24 March 1921, and buried in the Joe Blohm family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon,IA.
