John Asmus Dies At Farm Home
John George Asmus, 74, died early today at his farm home six miles southeast of Hastings, in the community where he had resided 72 years since coming to Nebraska with his parents from Arcola, Ill.
Mr. Asmus is survived by five daughters, Miss Emma Asmus and Mrs. Pearl Van Skiver of Grand Island, Miss Edith Asmus and Miss Ruth Asmus of Hastings, and Mrs. Alice Schlachter of Springfield, Ore.; a son, Irvin Asmus, Hastings; five brothers, Oscar, Fred, Morris and Frank of Hastings and Otto of Avon Park Fla.; and two grandchildren. His wife Augusta died 12 years ago.
The body is at the Livingston-Butler Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are not completed.
