Albert Reuben Foslien was born in Moe Township, Douglas County, Minnesota, on May 20, 1910, the son of Frank and Julia Foslien. Reuben was baptized and confirmed and attended rural schools in Moe Township. As a young man he farmed with his father and on October 29, 1931, he was united in marriage to Mildred Sarsland in Alexandria. The couple continued to live in Moe Township where they operated a grain and dairy farm. Reuben also maintained roads for Moe Township for 37 years and operated a resort on Lobster Lake for many years. Reuben was a lifetime member of the West Moe Lutheran Church where he had held several offices. He was also a former member of the Sons of Norway. He died on Thursday, February 23, 1984, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 73 years.

Reuben is survived by: wife, Mildred Foslien of Moe Township; sons, Roylie Foslien of Bloomington, Myron Foslien of Bloomington, Charles Foslien of Lincoln, Nebraska, Floyd Foslien of Hudson, Wisconsin and Stanley Foslien of Moline, Illinois; daughter, Bonnie (Mrs. Dale) Timm of Eden Prairie; brothers, Conrad Foslien of Garfield, Norman Foslien of Garfield, Frank Foslien of Alexandria; sisters, Mrs. Clarenza Olson of Alexandria, Mrs. Gertrude Matzke of Minneapolis, Luella (Mrs. Harold) Myhr of Holmes City, Irene (Mrs. Clifton) Myhr of Mesa, Arizona and Fyllis (Mrs. Tom) Flannery of Minneapolis. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren. Reuben was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 25, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. at West Moe Lutheran Church, Brandon, with Rev. Brian Black officiating. Interment in West Moe Lutheran Cemetery, Brandon. Pallbearers were Randall Foslien, James Foslien, Mike Foslien, Keith Foslien, Kevin Timm and Scott Foslien. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home
