Davis R. Parrish, Retired Rutledge Farmer, Died Here Tuesday Morning
Davis Roscoe Parrish, 74, of Edina, a retired farmer and formerly of Rutledge, died at 7:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, 1969, at the Gibson Hospital here where he had been a patient three weeks. He had been in failing health some time.
Funeral services are at 1 o'clock this afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. J. S. Laws of Moberly officiating. Burial will be in the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Francis M. Parrish, of Edina and a grandson, David F. Parrish, who is stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood.
Mr. Parrish was born March 13, 1894, in Scotland County, one of the three sons of Monroe and Hattie A. Hoopes Parrish. He was married April 16, 1916, to Bessie M. Fetters. They lived on a farm in the Antioch neighborhood until 1935 then moved to Rutledge and have lived in Edina since 1967. Mr. Davis [Parrish] had been a member of the Millport Christian Church since 1909.
He was preceded in death by his father, April 11, 1940, his mother, May 13, 1962, and by two brothers, Albert Mason Parrish, in infancy, and Roy R. Parrish, who preceded his mother in death.
