John Nathan Brown the son of Thomas Brown (e) and Hannah (Pittinger) Brown (e) first marriage, Mary Nancy Buhrman the daughter of Johannes Poorman and Katherine Ellen Martin. after her death married Elizabeth (Betsy) Smith. John Nathan and Mary Nancy dwelt in the in the vicinity of Foxville, Frederick County, MD.

John Nathan Brown was baptized, April 4, 1790, by his parents and sponsored Hannah Pittinger Brown, as recorded in the church records at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Creagerstown, Frederick County, MD.
His son Henry Brown took over ownership of the homestead. The farm was later known as the John Stottlemyer place and later became known as the Glen Delauter place.

(2.) William David Brown "Cricket Bill" born 2 May 1803, married Mary Toms.
(3.) Elizabeth Brown, born 23 March 1807, married Dennis Manahan.
(4.) Mary Magdalena Brown, married Abraham Comfort, a carpenter, they resided at Mount Zion, Washington County, MD. near Foxville. Their burial location has not been established. Children listed as Catherine E. Comfort, Martin F. Comfort, Hiram E. Comfort.
(5.) Lydia Ann Brown, b. 1819 b-d. 25 March 1855 married Henry Manahan b. 1815-d.25 October 1885.
(6.) Henry Brown b. 1821-died 17 January 1878 wed 4 February 1846, Mary, daughter of William Hiram and Mary (Casebere Toms.
(7.) Levi Brown b. 1823-d. 1 August 1893 wed 23 March 1852, Mary E. Manahan b. 1831-21 October 1900.
(8.) Daniel Brown b. 24 October1828-d. 24 January 1884 wed 20 March 1849, Sarah Ann Manahan b. 15 April 1824 -d. 28 January 1896.

John Nathan Brown, intestate widow - Elizabeth Smith. Land Deer Park", 49 acres, from George Elliot and w/ Elizabeth of Baltimore County in 1818, on south side of Caspar Creek in Catoctin Mountain; also "Addition to Deer Park", 104 acres; adjoins "Resurvey on Israel's Lot", "Naughts Never in Danger" and "Sweep Stakes". Property is located 3 miles from Harbaugh's Valley and 2 miles from David Wolfe's tavern and adjoins lands of Daniel Buhrman and Abraham Toms Sr. There are 2 log houses, a log barn and other outbuildings, orchard of apple and peach trees and spring of good water near each house; total lands are 153 1/2 acres. In 1840, Magdalena and husband sold their interests to brother Henry Brown. On 5 Feb 1842, testimony was heard at the house of George P. FOX from William Toms(?). Guardian was the widow; trustee was William D. Brown. On 5 Mar 1842, sale was made to Henry Brown for the large tract at $1,025.11; to Daniel Buhrman for 27 acres at $302.50; to Elizabeth Brown for 16+ acres at $163.87. On 25 Apr 1842, the widow stated she was 50 years old and afflicted with rheumatism; she was allowed 2/17 share. Distributions: widow, $161.87; each 1/9 share, $134.89; closed 12 May 1849.
