Bessie Omega Ladd, 92, of College Street died 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 1992, at Puryear Nursing Home.

Services are planned 3:30 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Charles Orr of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and after noon Saturday.

A native of Dickson County, Mrs. Ladd was born Feb. 6, 1900, daughter of the late Ruben Tensley Buttrey and Avery Tomlinson Buttrey. She was married in April 1925 to William Arthur Ladd Sr., who preceded her in death June 2, 1966. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class, a homemaker, and a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, William Arthur "Bill" Ladd Jr. and wife June of Murray; three sisters, Edna Baker of Burns, Beadie Uselton of Nashville and Minnie Naylor of Clarksville; a brother, Vernon Buttrey of Burns; three grandchildren, Stephen Ladd and wife Debbie, Brenda Turner and husband Larry and Martha Green and husband Jim; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Trula Daniel, and two brothers, Tensley and Boyd Buttrey.
