Carolyn A. Krumanaker, age 80, of 222 Sara Ave., Marion, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at her home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Bippus, Ind., to the late Philip and Theresa Sell Schenkel. On Nov. 11, 1939, she married Max W. Krumanaker in Mishawaka, Ind., and he preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1987, in Marion.
She was a Red Cross volunteer and was employed 17 years in the catalog department at Sears. She also worked as a sales person for Hemmerly's Flowers. A resident of Marion for 40 years, she was previously a resident of Hartford City, Ind.
She is survived by son Kent (Roxanne) Krumanaker of Marion; daughter Kay (James) Mitchell of Marion; grandchildren, Jon (Heather) Mitchell of Marion, Kim (Steve) Tolnar of Lewis Center, Traci (Ron) Harris of Marion, Kelly (Tim) Flinchbaugh of Marion, Jeff Mitchell of Marion, Kip (Tiffany) Krumanaker of Marion and Krista (Chris Wylie) Krumanaker of Marion; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Collin, Christopher, Max, Sara, Kyle and Matthew; two brothers, Ernest Schenkel of Bippus, Ind., and Chris Schenkel of Leesburg, Ind.; and one sister, Florence Schmalzried, Bippus, Ind. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Phillip, Jr.
