Opelousas —Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas for Mrs. Christine (Kristien) Dupre Murphy. Fth. Gary Schexnayder will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La.

Kris was a native of Opelousas, LA, and a long time resident of Springfield, MO. She passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the age of 57. She graduated from Opelousas Senior High School in 1973 and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in education from Missouri State University where she was a member of multiple education honor societies.

Kris made great sacrifices for her husband, Sean, as he advanced in his career in the US and Africa. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and was a loving "Nanny Kris" to her many nieces and nephews. She always found time to help others and never asked anything in return. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three sons, Tyler, Ross, and Conner Murphy, all of Springfield, MO; mother, Lola Fontenot Dupre' of Opelousas, LA; brother, Ronald Dupre' and wife, Terry, of Houston, TX, brother; Neal Dupre' and wife, Donna, of Carencro, LA; and sister, Janice Dupre' Landry, and husband, Michael, of Lafayette, LA. She is also survived by the father of her children, Sean Murphy, of Edmond, OK.

She was preceded in death by her father, A.C. Joseph Dupre'; paternal grandparents, Arcade and Celestine Pitre Dupre'; maternal grandparents, Willie and Marie Carriere Fontenot.

Pallbearers will be Ross and Conner Murphy, Sean Murphy, Scott Landry, Joe Dupre', and Ryan Dupre'.
Visiting hours will be observed at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA on Monday, November 4, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00a.m. until time of service. Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.
