Linda K. Brock Cowan, 68, of Tecumseh, passed away Oct. 25, 2013, after an all too short battle with cancer. She left this earth surrounded by her children and grandchildren in the home she had filled with so much love.

She was born to Leta Vandever Brock and Cecil Brock on May 13, 1945, in Macomb. Linda was raised in the Macomb and Tecumseh area and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1963.

She married Gerald "Oggie" Cowan in March of 1964 and together they raised their family in Tecumseh.

Linda devoted her life to her four children as a homemaker, a baseball mom, a racing mom, and a tireless volunteer for Faith 7 Activity Center. She also retired from The Shawnee News-Star in 1998. After which, she devoted the rest of her life to her family and grandchildren. Many summers and holidays were spent camping in Sulfur with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her hoe hungry. She was everyone's Grandma Linda or other "Mom" and had a way of making every person she met feel special.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leta and Cecil Brock of Tecumseh, and her husband of 49 years, Gerald "Oggie" Cowan.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammy Cowan and Shanda Cowan of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Kathy Cowan of Tecumseh and Brock and Lindsey Cowan of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Dylan, Jayme, and Lane Cowan of Tecumseh; sister and brother-in-law, Alta and Sid Harmon of Dale; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Elaine Brock of Tecumseh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was blessed to be a surrogate Mom and Grandma to countless others whom she dearly loved.
