BAKERSVILLE. Ruth Howell Burleson, 82, of Marble Mine Road, Bakersville, passed away Tuesday, July 8,
2008, at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine.
She was a native of Mitchell County and the daughter of the late Landon and EffieBuchanan Howell. She was a member of Silver Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Dean Moore and wife, Jean, of Waxhaw, N.C., Russell Burleson and wife Ilene, of
Bakersville, and Jeff Burleson and wife, Sharon, of Bakersville: one brother, Claude Howell, of Asheville;
eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, John D.
Burleson; brothers, Jesse Howell and Dewey Howell; sisters, Annie Buchanan and Verel Bodford.
The funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday in Silver Chapel Baptist Church, Bandana, NC with burial to following church cemetery.
