Mr. Nelson C. Turner, 87, husband of Mazola Grier Turner, died Friday, November 1, 2013, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, after an illness. Mr. Turner was born December 25, 1925, a son of the late Joseph Otley Turner and Pearl Powell Turner. He was a graduate of Hannah High School and a farmer. Mr. Turner was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, having served as a former Deacon, Secretary-Treasurer of Church Sunday School, and a member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class and the Brotherhood. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II. Mr. Turner was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph Turner, Talmadge Turner, Carl Turner and Preston Turner; sister, Kate Altman; and special cousin, Sam Joe Turner.
