Etheline Mary Pitre, a native of Ville Platte and a resident of Galliano, died 4:25 p.m. Saturday in Galliano. She was 41. Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. today until funeral time Monday at Falgout Funeral Home, Inc. in Galliano.
The funeral is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Funeral Home, with religious service following at the United Methodist Church in Galliano. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Golden Meadow.
Mrs. Pitre is survived by her husband, Roland Pitre; three daughters, Ophelia Pitre, Mrs. Gerard Ledet and Mrs. Ronald Cheramie Jr.; three step children, Barbara, Larry and Roland Pitre Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Barzar and Mrs. Ellavon Laird; and a brother, Larry Barzar. He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Cheramie; two sons, Larry P. Pitre Sr. and Roland
"Joey" J. Pitre Jr.; four daughters, Barbara Wilson, Laura Pitre, Faye Blanchard and
Ophelia Galliano; two sisters, Norma Lafont and Alfrancis "Dada" Martin; and 21
grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Etheline Barzar Pitre; his parents, Thomas Pitre Sr.
and Marcess Felarise Pitre; one grandchild, Eliot Cantrelle; two great-grandchildren, Chase
"Chi Chi" Anthony Pitre and Michael Paul Cheramie; two brothers, Linwood Pitre and Thomas
"Bodo" Pitre Jr.; and one sister, Amey St. Pierre.
