Oca Lee Sutton daughter of the late Ethel Phelps Bowles and James Carson Bowles was born in Centerville, Missouri, on September 21, 1926. She departed this life at Southbrook Nursing Center in Farmington, Missouri, on October 29, 2013, at the age of 87 years, one month and seven days.

On November 13, 1943 in Fort McClellan, Aniston, Alabama, Oca Lee was united in marriage to Vernon Sutton and to this loving union two daughters were born. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2007. Oca Lee was a member of the Centerville First Baptist Church, and her hobbies included reading, sewing, cooking, attending church and listening to gospel music.

Oca Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Mae Larkin and Margaret Hardin.

Oca Lee is survived by her daughters, Lynn Adams of Lesterville, Jeanie Wetzel of Ellington, three grandchildren, Todd Adams, Jonathan Wetzel and Julie Fox, one great-grandson, Michael Fox, one brother, James Donald Bowles and wife Ricki of Arnold, one sister, Wilma Shy of Bonne Terre, one brother-in-law, Loren Sutton and wife Joyce of Centerville, and one sister-in-law, Leola Reed and husband Cecil of Alstyne, TX. Oca Lee will be deeply missed by her family and many friends who will mourn her passing.



Visitation: Friday November 1st 5 to 8 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, MO


Funeral Services: Saturday November 2nd 1:30 PM at Centerville First Baptist Church
