Warrensburg (NY) - Lake George News, Wed., May 6, 1987:

LAKE GEORGE — Kenneth S. Moon Sr., 92, of Mountainview Lane, died Thursday, April 23, 1987.

Born, April 2, 1895, he was the son of Alexander G. and Alma Shurtle Moon. Mr. Moon was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mr. Moon was a self-employed building contractor for many years.

He became a Mason on June 3, 1926, joining the St. Sacrament Lodge 1029 in Lake George. Mr. Moon served as worshipful master of the lodge in 1937; in June 1986 received the 60-year service palm from the Grand Master of Masons of New York State.

Mr. Moon was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Those family members who died before Mr. Moon were his wife, Alice Moon in 1973; his second wife Gertrude Stockwell Moon in 1981; two daughters, Joyce Moon in 1971 and Ellen Moon Castle in 1985; and two sons, Richard Moon in 1973 and Roy Moon in 1976.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth S. Moon, Jr. of Petaluma, California, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held at the Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home in Warrensburg, on Monday, April 27, with the Rev. Donald Adams, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Warrensburg officiating.

Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George.
