ELMIRA, June 12 - Charles Wright, 55 years of age, an employee of James H. McLane, who conducts a trucking business at 220 Mt. Zoar street, was so severely kicked by a horse belonging to Mr. McLane, Thursday morning at 4:30 o'clock that he died in St. Joseph's Hospital six hours later. It was the habit of Mr. Wright who had worked off and on for Mr. McLane for 13 years and who lived at the McLane home, 220 Mt. Zoar street, to arise each morning about 4:30 o'clock and attend to the horses used by Mr. McLane in his business. Thursday morning Mr. Wright went to the barn as usual but did not return to the house. About 5 o'clock members of Mr. McLane's family, disturbed by his absence, sought him and found him crumpled in a corner of a stall. Bleeding frightfully and only semi-conscious, he made them understand that he had been kicked by a horse in the stable. Mr. McLane summoned an ambulance and had Mr. Wright conveyed to the hospital, where he was attended by Dr. Patrick G. Donovan and Dr. Robert A. Powell. It was found that the man's jaw and skull had been fractured and that he had sustained severe bruises on the chest. Everything possible was done for his relief but he died at 10:30 a.m. The funeral will be held at Mosherville, Pa., at a date to be announced later (The Evening Leader, Corning, New York, Friday, June 12, 1925).
