Abundio "T.J." Avila Brito, 63 of Waterloo, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center of natural causes.

He was born July 11, 1950 in Cuba. He was adopted at the age of 16 by Albert and Elese Peterson Treptow.

He worked for Black Hawk Engineering as a machine operator for 27 years in Cedar Falls. He was a member of Furgerson Lodge #5.

Survived by: his mother, Elese Treptow of Waterloo; one daughter; two grandchildren, several brothers and sisters all of Cuba a special cousin, Brian Robison and a special friend, Augusta Green both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his adoptive father, Albert Treptow.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November, 2013 at the Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
