Mr. Hooks passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Arthur V. Hooks and Leila B. Hooks. He was a lifetime area resident and a longtime member of the Washington St. United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He founded Kenny's Auto Supply in 1946 at his location on Devine Street in "Five Points", also was a member of the Five Points Merchants Association.
Surviving are his daughter, Louise Hooks and son, Ken Hooks, Jr. both of Columbia; sister-in-law, Elsie Park Boney of Columbia and Graciella Park of Norwalk, CT, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his late wife of 51 years, Betty P. Hooks and a brother, Arthur V. Hooks
