Bernadette A. "Bernie" (Rassau) Adams, 95, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars. She was born June 17, 1918, in Freeport, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Koenig) Rassau. She has lived in Tarentum since 1936 where she was a self employed wall paper hanger for 20 years. A member of Highland Free Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, and was a 2nd Ward Judge of Elections for 44 years. Bernie graduated from St. Joseph High School and taught Sunday school for 44 years. She enjoyed crafts and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include her son, Robert L. (Marsha) Adams, of Buffalo Township; grandson, Kevin (Leann) Sproull and their children, Ryan and Jason, of Wilmington, N.C.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Myers and her children, Mitchell and Jordan, of Aiken, S.C. Also surviving is a brother, John (Betty) Rassau, of Natrona Heights. Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Paul Adams in 1974; a son, David J. Adams; daughter, Barbara Sproull; brother, Paul Rassau; and three sisters, Margaret Heasley, Alice Fetters and Kathleen Simmons. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Richard Nulph, Pastor of Church of the Harvest, Natrona Heights, officiating. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
