Ronald Wademan Stauffer was born to Herbert and Florence Stauffer of West Lawn, PA on July 20, 1934. Ron graduated from Wilson High school in 1952 then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954, where he served 12 years as an Airborne Radio Operator on multiple different aircrafts. In 1966, he was honorably discharged from the Air Force and made a permanent residence in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 1978, he moved to Hallock, MN where he owned and operated the Alibi Room, which was a local bar.

He was united in marriage to Karen Phillips in 1980. Four children were born to this marriage. In 1990, he took a job at Polaris in Roseau and moved his family to Wannaska, MN. Ron was an outdoorsmen and enjoyed trapping and fishing. He was an excellent family man and truly loved his children and grandchildren.

Ron passed away January 16, 2013 at the Warroad Senior Living Center surrounded by his children.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Visitation will be one hour prior. Military honors by the Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
