She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings in the church.
She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, performing in plays, decorating, skiing, golfing, bowling, her flower garden, and most of all her family.
Sharon married her high school sweetheart, J. Phillip Shorten on June 23, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They were blessed with four children, Steven, Shoreline, Washington; Michael, Puyallup, Washington; Jeffrey, Spanaway, Washington; and Douglas, Tacoma, Washington. They have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchhildren. She is survived by her sister, Velma Stanger who will miss her very much.
Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Erma Chase.
