Al Elsberry
Gone Fishing

Al was born to George and Ermyle Elsberry May 15, 1939 in Caldwell, Idaho. After an eleven year hard - fought battle with Lymphoma, he left us to be with the Lord on October 23, 2013.
He was "Al" to many, "Hoot" to some, "Daddy" to his girls, "Alfred" to some, and friend to many. He was a generous man, ready and willing to fill the needs of others.
Al was raised in the Parma area, attending local schools and working at various jobs through his younger years. In 1961, he married his true love, LaFawn Rucker, and they moved to the Boise area where he ran a sales route. Within the next five years, Al and LaFawn were blessed with two sweet daughters, Tami and LeAnn. Daddy's girls stole his heart forever. In his down time Al's favorite pastime was fishing and sitting around the campfire, surrounded by pines in the Idaho mountains.
Desiring to be involved in various types of employment, he worked in law enforcement, sales, as an owner-operator in trucking, and retired from Idaho Power as a transport operator.
Al was predeceased by his parents (George & Erymle Elsberry), a brother (Keith Elsberry), as well as his in-laws (Ray & Ruth Rucker).
He is survived by his wife LaFawn Elsberry, two daughters and son-in-laws Tami (Dean) Edens, LeAnn (John) Badiola, 10 grandkids (Matt Edens, Christy Franklin, Carl Edens, April Hutchison, John Edens, Randi Wright, Brooke Edens, Brandon Badiola, Kaleb Badiola, and JuleAnn Badiola); and 7 great grandkids (Kole, Kailyn, Gracie, Brody, Jojo, Ashlyn, and Zoey). "Grandpa Hoot" loved them dearly. Also surviving Al is his brother and favorite fishing partner John Elsberry and sister JoAnn Elsberry.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1st at Dakan Chapel in Caldwell. Please come celebrate with us and if you have one, wear your favorite fishing hat. The family would love to hear your precious memories of Al, so please also bring your "Al" stories to share.
