Robert W. "Rob" Bauers Sr., 80, of Weeping Water, NE died Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln.

Robert was born in Manley, Nebraska on June 22, 1933, to Fred and Elizabeth (Sheehan) Bauers.

He served as a pvt. In the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked many years for the Kiewit Construction.

Robert is survived by his wife, Marjorie J. "Poots" Bauers; a daughter, Brenda Boyer and significant other, Doc, Weeping Water, NE; four sons, Larry and wife Allison Bauers, Louisville, NE; Tom and wife Julie Bauers, Weeping Water, NE; John "Hug" and wife Theresa Bauers, Weeping Water, NE; Rob and wife Terri Bauers Jr., Weeping Water, NE; a step daughter, Linda (John) Broomes of Wichita, KS; a step son, Kyle (Natalie) Stephenson of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren, Eric (Carrie) Bauers, Loveland, CO; Chase Bauers, Maylea Bauers both of Louisville, NE; Joshua Bauers, Elizabeth Bauers, Brittney Bauers and special friend Tim Ryan; Meghan Bauers and Kaitlin Bauers all of Weeping Water, NE; five great grandchildren, Kalten, Caydee, Jessia, Hayden and Kolby; a sister, Agnes Hetrick of Lincoln, NE; three brothers, his twin, Richard Bauers, Pat Bauers and Paul Bauers all of Weeping Water, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his dog, Cramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lizzie and Fritz, wife Janet Rae (Betts) Bauers, one sister, Cecelia Hanes, and son-in-law, Patrick Boyer.

Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, October 30th, at First Congregational Church, Weeping Water, officiating Pastor Mary McQueen and Larry Hammons. Pianist was Chris Abbott, vocalists were Betty Colbert and Larry Bauers singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "On Eagle Wings".
