Heyman Solomon, a pioneer of Los Angeles, died yesterday at his residence, 352 South Hill Street. He was 66 years old and lived half his life in this city. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow from Masonic temple, the dead man having been a member of that order. Mr. Solomon was the first man to manufacture artificial ice in this city. Many years ago C. Ducommun saw a patent ice-making machine at the Paris exposition and shipped a machine to Mr. Solomon, who thus was the pioneer local iceman. He leaves a widow and four children.
