Passed away after a brief illness in Land O'Lakes, Fla. Born and raised in Nauvoo, Ill. Married Gwendolyn Tallman. Survived by his brother; brother-in-law; sister-in-law; six children; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Max and Elida; 11 brothers and sisters; his wife, Gwendolyn; daughters, Kathy Genens, Charlotte DeRango and his son, David (Susan) Kirschbaum. Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St. Rockford with Very Rev. Carl Beekman officiating. Memorial visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service in the church. Arrangents with Olson Funeral Home., Rockford.
