Mrs. Effie Kathryn Kessler, age 84, of the Pope County Care Center, a former Vienna resident, died August 20, 1978 at the Hardin County Hospital. She was born in Johnson County, February 2, 1894, the daughter of Ulysses Grant and Lillie Simmons Williams.
She was married to Harry Kessler. Surviving are brothers and sisters, Marlow Williams of Golconda, Howard Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, Faye Anderson, Kankakee, Walter Williams of Sacramento, California and Cecil Henley, Cambridge, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. August 23, at Aly Funeral Home in Vienna with the Rev. John L. Cox officiating. Burial was in Kerley Cemetery. [Faye Morris Bowman]
