She moved to Michigan where she spent her time researching the microfilm and other sources before the internet. Ezekiel Smith and family in Greene County, Tennessee sent his sons ahead in 1846 to Missouri to prepare relocation. Andrew Jackson Smith and his older brother George Washington Smith built a log cabin on the Three Notch Road near Sand Creek in "New Tennessee" area of Missouri. St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Counties, Missouri became the location for these growing large Smith families.
