Alexander "Alex" Rust was born September of 1859 in Gallatin County, Kentucky, USA, and was the son of Albert G. "AL" and Sarah Hess Rust. The headstone is incorrect concerning both birth and death years.

Alex married Amanda Elma "Lollie" Bell Rust (Hesser) on September 23, 1888 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, USA. The following are the known children of Alex and Lollie Bell Rust:
1) Harry R Rust, born June 24, 1889 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, USA; Died on July 14, 1949 in Del City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA. Harry married his first wife Bertha Viola Gilbert Rust on February 20, 1909 in Payne County, Oklahoma, USA. Harry later married his second wife Nola Inez Unknown maiden name about 1919 in Oklahoma, USA.
2) Jennie Rust Hobson, born October 25, 1891 (though her headstone states 1889, which is incorrect) in Oklahoma, USA; died August 28, 1979 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas, USA. Jennie married Robert Mark Hobson on October 13, 1914 in Los Angeles County, California, USA.
3) Walter Rust, born February 17, 1894 in Glencoe, Payne County, Oklahoma, USA; died June 24, 1978 in Hydro, Blaine County, Oklahoma, USA. Walter married Hazel Lucy Hatfield on December 25, 1914, Glencoe, Payne County, Oklahoma, USA.

Our beloved Uncle Alex passed away on October 27, 1897 in Glencoe, Payne County, Oklahoma, USA. June 29th of 1895 is the purchase date for the plot that Lollie bought for the family, but the burial year date for Alex is 1897 in the records at Fairlawn Cemetery, who had shared this information, and has been a great help in solving the mysteries of our beloved Alex so his story can be told. Their help is very much appreciated. We want to honor the memory of Alex who was a hard working man. The date of passing on the headstone states Alex died in the year 1889, which is incorrect. He and Lollie had 3 children together and the youngest was born in 1894.

May our very much loved and missed Uncle Alex always be fondly remembered, and may he Rest In Peace in the Circle of our family love within the presence of our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amanda Elma "Lollie" Bell Rust married William M. Hesser on December 31, 1896 in Payne County, Oklahoma, USA. Together they moved forward with their lives and had many children they raised together.

Uncle Alex was a teamster. A long standing brotherhood of America and also Canada that moves the goods of the American people, which keeps our nation prospering.

Teamster
"A teamster is the American term for a truck driver or a person who drives teams of draft animals. Further, the term often refers to a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a labor union in the United States and Canada.
"Originally the term teamster referred to a person who drove a team, usually of oxen, horses, or mules, pulling a wagon, replacing the earlier teamer.
"This term was common by the time of the Mexican–American War (1848) and the Indian Wars throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries on the American frontier.
Another name for the occupation was bullwhacker, related to driving oxen. A teamster might also drive pack animals, such as a muletrain, in which case he was also known as a muleteer or muleskinner. Today this person may be called an outfitter or packer.
"In some places, a teamster was known as a carter, referring to the bullock cart. In Australian English, a teamster was also known as a bullocker or bullocky.
"From the Revolutionary War, and at least through World War I, the United States Army enlisted personnel responsible for transporting supplies by wagon and upkeep of animals for this purpose were called wagoners."
