Added by LawsonailMatilda and James W. Linder were married in 1879 and they were the parents of two daughters, Gertrude and Grace. James died a short time after their marriage.

She married George Windhurst of Grinnell on August 18, 1888. They were the parents of five children, two of whom preceded her in death.

In the latter years of their lives the couple moved to Williamsburg. George died on June 22, 1916, and she continued to live there until a few weeks before her death when she went to Chicago to be with her daughter, Grace Devilbiss, superintendent of Woodlawn Hospital, where she died on February 28.

Surviving were three sisters, Mrs. Mary Wood and Mrs. Stella Cook of Grinnell, and Mrs. Flora Murburger of Stillicomb, Washington; one brother, George Gorsch of Grinnell; two sons, Lou Windhurst of Clairmont, Minnesota, and Clarke Windhurst of West Union, Iowa.
