THE DEATH OF RUBY LEAMING LOVELESS
Romney –-Mrs ruby Leaming Loveless, 80 former Romney resident, died at 9:35 a.m. Monday at St Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette. She had been ill three months and hospitalized 26 days. She was born at San Francisco, California, and had lived in Romney fro37 years before moving to Crawfordsville four months ago. Mrs Loveless was the oldest practicing music teacher in Tippecanoe county, having taught for 60 years. She attended Clarks Hill High School and central Normal College at Danville, Indiana. She was married in 1914 to Hunter Leaming who died in 1962. In 1965 she married Claude Loveless. He died in 1967. She was a member of Romney Presbyterian Church, a 62-year member of Romney OES 460, having served as organist and past matron, Crawfordsville Music Club of which she was past president, and Romney Literary club. Surviving are one son, James H Leaming of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs Lily Labare of Julesburg, Colorado; two stepsons, James Claude Loveless of Pittsford, NY, and Boyd Loveless of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and three stepdaughters, Mrs Morris Thompson of Clarks Hill, Mrs Arnold Smiley of York, Pa., and Miss Ada Loveless of Flint, Michigan. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Helms Funeral Home, Linden. OES services there at 7:30 Wednesday. The body will lie in state at the Romney Presbyterian Church one hour prior to services - there at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev Peter Heemstra officiating; interment Elmwood Cemetery, Romney.
