Mr. McWhirk, an old-time resident of Montana, died last Sunday. He came to Benton last fall, quite sick, and being in indigent circumstances, applied for aid from the county, which was given him. Everything possible was done for the poor fellow, but to no avail, and he quietly faded out of existence. He was buried on Monday.
