Binnie Barnes Harris passed away on March 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in London after a brief illness. She was born in Cumberland, Kentucky on September 29, 1937 to the late Robert Roy Barnes & Cora Bright Barnes. She was united in marriage to the late Rufus E. Harris, Sr. on December 24, 1954. Along with her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Barnes, Sam Barnes, Louise Logan, Delana Colquitt, Ruth Barker, and Alfred Barnes. She is survived by six children, Carolynn Harris, Catherine Harris, Sandra Puckett, Rufus Harris and wife Billie, Roy Harris and wife Debbie, and Cora Ponder, all of Laurel County; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was a member of Swiss Colony Baptist Church and a lifelong and skilled seamstress. Binnie retired in early 2012 from her last job as an alterations manager for a local bridal and specialty shop. She spent the last twenty-five years of her working life making brides look their most beautiful. Funeral services for Binnie Barnes Harris will be conducted on Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bros. Greg Deaton, Delmer Gross and Johnny Jervis officiating. Burial will follow in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, also at the funeral home
