Mary L. Wielert Laney, 86, of Watseka passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Watseka Rehab & Health Care Center.

Mary was born January 26, 1928 in Sheldon, the daughter of Glenn Clark and Iris Alta Musgrave Hamilton and they preceded her in death in addition to two brothers, Kenneth and Cecil, one son-in-law, Clyde Boswell and one great-grandson, Taylor Boswell.

She married William W. Wielert in September of 1946 in Sheldon and he preceded her in death on October 9, 1973.

She later married Delmar F. Laney on July 13, 1978 in Beaverville and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2012.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamelia Boswell of Cleveland, MS and Linda Sharper of Kankakee; three sons, Alan D. (Sharon) Wielert of Watseka, Michael (Patty) Wielert of Watseka and James (Teresa) Wielert of Warrensburg, MO; three step-daughters, Diane (Glenn) Pope of Channahon, Donna (Larry) Mulder of St. Anne and Chris (Bill) Vaughan of Chesterton, IN; two sisters, Helen Kallen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Barbara (Don) Clauser of Buckner, MO; one brother, Don (Phyllis) Hamilton of Watseka; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Laney was a member of the First Christian Church in Watseka, where she was a Deacon of the church, D.A.R., American Legion Auxiliary and Iroquois County Historical & Genealogical Society. She was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and had worked at T.R.W. and Western Condenser.

Burial in the Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois.
