Erastus Evenson is the son of Henrik Evenson and Tarjer Serine Torjusdatter. He was born in Risor, Aust-Agder, Norway.

Married Mary Elizabeth Holdaway on 28 March 1917 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Erastus was 65 and Mary was 61. This was a second marriage for Mary whose 1st husband, Charles Conrad died in 1910. She and Charles had 9 children. Erastus and Mary were married for a short time as Erastus is shown in the 1920 census as divorced.

1870 census: Erastus, 18, is single and residing in Spanish Fork, Utah with his mother Serena Gardner, brother Even Evenson; half-brothers Serenus Gardner and Henry Gardner; half-sisters, Serena Gardner and Annie Gardner.

1880 census: Erastus, 28, is single and resides in Spanish Fork, Utah with his mother Serena Gardner, brother Even Evenson; half-sister, Annie Gardner, daughter of Serena and Archibald Gardner.
