Fay graduated from Davis high school and attended Weber State College, where she studied education. She was a dedicated substitute teacher for Weber County Schools for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed serving in a number of callings. She was a member of a variety of social groups, including Tops, Camping Kritters, and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
When younger, Fay enjoyed coaching and playing softball and working on her parents' farm. She loved dancing, especially square dancing with her husband. She loved to read, and had a great book collection. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. They traveled together often. Fay loved holidays (her favorite was Christmas), and she never forgot a birthday.
At the time of her passing, Fay was survived by her husband "Bill" Clarence W. Gilman, her two daughters and their husbands, three step-sons, two step-daughters, and one sister, as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren ( with one on the way). She was preceded in death by her dear parents and one special son-in-law, Quentin Unsworth.
