This grave was originally in the Demastus Cemetery along Buckeye Creek upstream from Sutton. All but a couple of the 36 graves in the cemetery (No 23) were relocated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1959/60 to a brand new Braxton County Memorial Cemetery prior to the completion of the Dam. The original site was submerged in the backwaters of the dam.
