Funeral services for Mr. Ray N. Duchesne, 64, of Hebert, were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 1997 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Duchesne, the son of the late Alfred and Bettie Mae Bowden Duchesne, Sr., was born in Hebert on May 14, 1933 and died Friday, October 17, 1997 at his residence.

He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine McClanahan Duchesne of Hebert; his sons, Randy Duchesne of Columbia and Dolyn "Bubba" Duchesne of Hebert; his daughters, Melba Emmons of Grayson and Shelia Duchesne of Hebert; his brothers, Alfred Duchesne, Jr. of Mangham, Johnny Duchesne of Monroe, and Vernon Duchesne of Hebert; his sisters, Betty Fife of Norman, Oklahoma, Jerry Womack of Hebert, and Nancy Taylor of LaPorte, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Louis Mullenix, Dan McClanahan, R. B. McClanahan, Isaac McClanahan, G. W. McClanahan, Charles McClanahan, James Hopper, Roy McMullen, and Clyde Graham.
